School evacuated after bomb threat in Willingboro

WILLINGBORO, NJ — Officers from the Willingboro Township Police Department responded to the Garfield Park Academy following a reported bomb threat that was called into the school at approximately 7:15 a.m. Thursday.

In accordance with New Jersey State Police safety guidelines, the school was immediately placed on lockdown and students and staff were diverted to a safe location.

K-9 units from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and conducted a thorough sweep of the school.

The threat was determined to be unfounded, and there is no credible threat to students or staff.

The Willingboro Township Police Department is actively investigating this incident.
