MARSHFIELD, VT — A 68-year-old man was arrested on a DUI charge following a single-vehicle crash on March 31, 2026.
Vermont State Police received a report of the crash on U.S. Route 2 at approximately 8:19 p.m.
Troopers responded to the scene and identified the operator as Robert Whalen of Barre City.
While speaking with troopers, Whalen displayed signs of impairment, police said.
Whalen was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.
He was released with a citation to appear in Washington Superior Court – Criminal Division.
