HARTFORD, CT — Police have arrested a man in connection with a March homicide on Albany Avenue.
Officers responded to 834 Albany Avenue at approximately 6:56 p.m. on March 12, 2026, on a report of a person shot.
Responding officers located an unresponsive gunshot victim, who was pronounced deceased on scene.
The victim was identified as Colin Roberts, 49, of Windsor.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes Division and Crime Scene Division assumed the investigation.
During the course of the investigation, a suspect was developed and an arrest warrant was issued charging the suspect with murder.
On April 1, 2026, Xavier English, 21, of Hartford, was located by members of the Hartford Police Violent Crimes Unit and the United States Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and taken into custody.
English was transported to the Hartford Police Detention Facility, where the warrant was served.
English was charged with murder and carrying a pistol without a permit.
Bond was set at $1,000,000.
