GOSHEN, VT — Police responded to a report of a suspicious individual on a roof at 2:47 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers arrived to find a large dog on the roof of a residence.
The dog had accessed the roof through a broken window screen, according to police.
The animal was observed pacing along the ridge line and barking at passing vehicles.
Officers attempted verbal commands, which the dog ignored.
Police then deployed treats as a secondary strategy.
The dog surrendered after a brief standoff.
No injuries were reported.
The dog was returned to its owner and released with a warning.
