Woman wanted on retail theft charges in Stroudsburg

STROUDSBURG, PA — Police have issued a warrant for a Pennsylvania woman accused of retail theft and providing false identification to officers.

Demi Marie Lamana, 30, of Pennsylvania, is wanted on charges including retail theft, possessing instruments of crime, false identification to a law enforcement officer, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stroud Area Regional Police were dispatched to Target at 155 Pocono Commons Drive on Nov. 18 at 7:39 p.m. for a report of retail theft.

A loss prevention officer reported a female wearing a dark overcoat was taking and concealing merchandise in her bag and on her person.

The woman went past all points of sale and fled the store.

Officers stopped the woman in the parking lot and took her into custody.

The woman identified herself as Celina Naseef-Gonzalez.

Officers had difficulty confirming her identity and advised her she was the subject of an official investigation and any falsified information would result in additional criminal charges.

She again confirmed the name and date of birth.

Officers removed multiple clothing items from her bag along with a pair of pliers, a screwdriver and a magnet, which she stated was used to remove magnetic merchandise tags to bypass security gates.

Suspected methamphetamine was also located in her bag.

The total amount of merchandise for the attempted theft was $544.99.

The woman was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility for processing.

Further investigation revealed Celina Naseef-Gonzalez was actually Demi Marie Lamana, confirmed through photos.

A felony arrest warrant was issued for Lamana on March 13.

Anyone with information on Lamana’s whereabouts is asked to contact Stroud Area Regional Police.
