CLINTON, MA — Police are searching for a 38-year-old man wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left one person critically injured.

Steve Casseus is wanted on charges including operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, subsequent offense, according to the Clinton Police Department.

The crash occurred on Water Street near the intersection of Palmer Court just after 3 p.m. on March 28.

The Clinton Public Safety Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls about the crash, which involved four motor vehicles.

All four vehicles sustained significant damage, police said.

One passenger suffered critical injuries and was transported to UMass Worcester for treatment.

Police determined Casseus was the operator of the vehicle that caused the crash.

Casseus fled the scene on foot before officers arrived, leaving the vehicle he was operating without identifying himself or checking on other people involved, police said.

Clinton police officers, neighboring police agencies and a Massachusetts State Police K9 unit searched the surrounding area but could not locate him.

An arrest warrant was issued by Clinton District Court on March 30.

Casseus is a Clinton resident but is also known to frequent the Brockton and Randolph areas.

Officer Shane Gilman and Detective Christopher Cornelius are the lead investigators.

Anyone with information about Casseus’s whereabouts or the crash is asked to call the Clinton Police Department at (978) 365-4111.
