WAITSFIELD, VT — Vermont State Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Bridge St near the Covered Bridge at 5 a.m. March 28, 2026.
Thomas Wiegel, 56, of Waitsfield, reported that his 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L rolled into the river while parked.
Police said the vehicle fell out of gear and entered the water.
No one was in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
No injuries were reported.
The vehicle sustained water damage.
