GREENPORT, NY — Members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit, Criminal Investigative Branch, and Uniformed Deputies executed a search warrant at a State Route 23B residence on March 30, 2026.
Deputies also searched a 2016 black Jeep Compass during the operation.
A quantity of crack cocaine was recovered, along with a digital scale and packaging materials.
Jermaine D. Washington, 45, of Greenport, was arrested and charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (intent to sell), a class B felony, and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony.
Washington was arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court before Judge Michael Brandon and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 3, 2026 at 10 a.m.
The Columbia County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
