VALLEY STREAM, NY — The Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire on W Lincoln Avenue at 2:23 p.m.
Smoke was visible coming from the multi-family home upon arrival.
First arriving units quickly located a basement fire.
Chief Anthony Capone transmitted a Signal 10, indicating a working fire, which brought mutual aid from surrounding towns.
Units quickly extinguished the fire, preventing any extension to upper floors.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshals Office.
Engine 341 and Ladder 708 were first due with Chief of the Department Anthony Capone as the incident commander.
While taking up from the Valley Stream fire, the department received a request for mutual aid to Elmont for a house fire on E Street.
Engine 344 and Ladder 345 responded with Chief Capone.
