GENEVA, NY — A homeless man was arrested Friday on a charge of public lewdness stemming from an incident earlier this month.

Nicholas J. Shiels, 40, was taken into custody at approximately 12:00 p.m. by members of the City of Geneva Police Department’s Road Patrol Division.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on March 7 at a residence on High Street.

Police allege that Shiels intentionally exposed his intimate area after pressing a Ring doorbell camera at a private residence.

Shiels was processed at the Geneva Police Department and issued an appearance ticket to appear at City of Geneva Criminal Court at a later date.

He was charged with public lewdness, a class B misdemeanor.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Geneva Police Department at 315-828-6771.
