Man arrested on felony criminal mischief charge in Leicester

LEICESTER, NY — A 39-year-old Leicester man was arrested on a felony charge after allegedly damaging a vehicle during a domestic dispute.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in Leicester at approximately 8:19 a.m. on March 26 for a report of a domestic incident that occurred in a vehicle.

Deputies met with the victim, who reported she had been in a verbal argument with Johnathan Fuhrman.

During the argument, Fuhrman allegedly intentionally broke the vehicle’s windshield.

Deputy Danielle Fensken arrested and charged Fuhrman with felony criminal mischief in the third degree.

Fuhrman was transported to the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.

He was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before Village of Geneseo Justice Bushnell.

The judge released Fuhrman on his own recognizance, as the offense does not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Fuhrman at the arraignment.

The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the People.

Sergeant Caleb Cutting and Deputy Cheyenne Masiello assisted with the investigation.
