NEW HARTFORD, NY — A single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Valley View Road resulted in injuries and temporarily closed the roadway.

New Hartford police responded to the intersection of Valley View Road and Cascade Drive on March 29 after a Chevrolet SUV traveling northbound lost control while navigating a slight curve.

The driver appeared to have over-corrected, causing the vehicle to travel toward the shoulder and collide with a utility pole, police said.

The impact severed the utility pole, forcing officers to close the roadway for a period of time.

The driver, Dalal Teiah, 22, of Utica, was transported to Wynn Hospital by Edwards Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

Teiah was ticketed for moving from lane unsafely in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law section 1128(a).

The New Hartford Fire Department and National Grid crews assisted police at the scene.
