Vehicle crashes on Interstate 89 in Waterbury

WATERBURY, VT — Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 northbound near mile marker 63.4 on Feb. 26, 2026.

Troopers were notified of the crash at approximately 11:47 p.m. and arrived to find a 2012 Honda Civic off the roadway and down an embankment, resting on its roof.

The operator, Logan Evans, 19, of Phoenix, Arizona, was out of the vehicle when troopers arrived.

Police determined Evans’ vehicle departed the roadway and traveled down the embankment before coming to rest on its roof.

Evans was wearing a seat belt and sustained suspected minor injuries.

He was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center for treatment.

The roadway was wet and it was raining at the time of the crash.

The Honda Civic was totaled.
