BRAINTREE, VT — Vermont State Police are investigating a theft from a residence on Riford Brook Road.
Troopers from the Royalton Barracks responded to the report at approximately 1:55 p.m. on Feb. 22, 2026.
Following an investigation with assistance from the Berlin Police Department and troopers from the Berlin Barracks, police developed probable cause to charge James E. Schultz, 40, of Elmira, New York, with larceny from the person.
Schultz was issued a criminal citation to appear in court.
