FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ — A former Irish Cottage Inn employee was arrested Thursday evening following an investigation into recurring thefts from the establishment.
Rayan Pourshariati, 20, of Hardyston Township, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13, 2026, by Franklin Borough Patrol Officers Eric Moschberger and Jonathan Sienkiewicz.
Police said Pourshariati, who had been employed at the establishment for several years, allegedly under-ringed cash transactions and retained customer payments for personal gain.
The investigation determined the conduct may have begun as early as January 2025.
The total reported loss to the establishment exceeds $7,000.
Pourshariati was charged with third-degree theft.
He was issued a complaint summons and released pending his appearance in Sussex County Superior Court in accordance with the New Jersey Bail Reform Act.
