VERONA, PA — A 48-year-old woman has been arrested twice in two days following a series of incidents involving threats, extortion and illegal firearm possession.
Officers responded to the 500 block of Ridge Avenue at approximately 7:08 p.m. on March 22, 2026, after receiving reports of a woman threatening to harm her neighbors.
Following an initial investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained.
The suspect was located and taken into custody at 11 a.m. on March 23, 2026.
She was processed and subsequently released from the Allegheny County Jail.
At approximately 9:19 p.m. that same evening, the woman targeted another victim.
The suspect attempted to extort money from the individual in exchange for the return of withheld property.
The property included a firearm, which the suspect is legally prohibited from possessing.
Following the second incident, a new warrant was issued.
The suspect was apprehended and is currently lodged at the Allegheny County Jail.
The suspect faces charges of theft by extortion, person not to possess a firearm, harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
