LEWISBORO, NY — Members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 684 on March 24, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m. for violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The operator was identified as John Williams, 36, of Bronx.
The front-seat passenger was identified as Jorge L. Centeno, 48, of Brooklyn.
During the investigation, members conducted a consent search of the vehicle and discovered an aftermarket electronically operated hidden compartment.
State Police K-9 Vinn conducted an exterior scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert for the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent search of the compartment revealed approximately 2 kilograms of cocaine, numerous individually packaged quantities of crack cocaine, and approximately 28 grams of fentanyl.
Williams and Centeno were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 1st, a class A-I felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance (narcotic), a class B felony; and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd (intent to sell), class B felonies.
Williams and Centeno were arraigned in the Town of North Castle Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
