DOLGEVILLE, NY — New York State Police arrested a 29-year-old man on child sexual abuse material charges on March 25, 2026.
Dakota J. Giarrusso, of Dolgeville, was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.
The investigation stemmed from an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force search warrant involving the transmission of child sexual abuse material over the internet.
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Troop D Computer Crimes Unit, the State Police Herkimer Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Albany.
Giarrusso was transported to Herkimer County CAP Court for arraignment, where he was remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bond, or $20,000 partially secured bond.
