Dog stolen in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Police are searching for a suspect who stole a dog from in front of a residence in the city’s 35th District.

The incident occurred on Thursday, March 19 at 1 p.m. at 5834 N Park St.

The victim reported that while contractors were working on his house, his Patterdale Terrier named “Mocha” got out and was in front of the residence.

An unknown male driving a black Toyota Scion stopped his vehicle, got out and took the dog before driving eastbound on Grange Avenue toward 12th Street.

The theft was captured on SEPTA surveillance and private residential cameras.

The dog has since been returned by a good Samaritan, but the investigation into the suspect remains ongoing.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a black Toyota Scion XD missing the passenger side rear hubcap.
