ARMONK, NY — A vehicle pursuit involving multiple law enforcement agencies ended with two arrests on Route 22 on March 25.
The North Castle Police Department was alerted at approximately 9:06 a.m. that New York State Police was attempting to stop a vehicle on southbound Interstate 684 in the area of exit 4 in Bedford.
The vehicle, a black Acura, reportedly had an improper Connecticut registration plate affixed to it.
The vehicle fled from the attempted vehicle stop on I-684 and was last seen exiting at exit 4.
At approximately 9:11 a.m. the vehicle was observed on Route 22 in the area of I-684.
Regional law enforcement partners from the State, Federal (FBI), and local enforcement arrived in the area and began to search for the vehicle alongside North Castle Police personnel.
An FBI unit observed the vehicle on Route 22 in the area of Maple Avenue.
The observed vehicle intentionally rammed the FBI vehicle and fled southbound on Route 22.
With the assistance of the Westchester County Police aviation unit, law enforcement partners were able to track the vehicle as it went back onto I-684 at exit 2 and then exited back into Armonk at exit 3.
The vehicle was stopped on southbound Route 22 just north of the Maple Avenue intersection as it became stuck in traffic.
The vehicle’s driver and passenger were taken into custody and turned over to New York State Police for further investigation.
