Three men charged with gang assault in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, NY — New York State Police have charged three men in connection with an assault that left a victim with serious facial injuries.

Larry W. Macey Sr., 64, Larry W. Macey Jr., 33, and Jonathon P. Shappy, 38, all of Plattsburgh, were charged with gang assault in the first degree.

Macey Sr. was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.

Troopers responded to Pleasant Ridge Road in the town of Plattsburgh at approximately 4:42 p.m. on March 23, 2026, for a report of a fight in progress.

An investigation determined that Macey Jr., Macey Sr. and Shappy approached the victim at their residence and began physically striking the victim, causing physical injury.

All three were arrested and transported to State Police Plattsburgh for processing.

They were arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court, where they were remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bond or $50,000 unsecured bond.

The victim was transported to CVPH Medical Center with serious facial injuries.
