SHREWSBURY, VT — Vermont State Police responded to a retail theft complaint at Stewart Maple store on March 24, 2026, at 5:05 p.m.
An employee reported that an individual had taken a gallon of maple syrup from the store without paying.
Through investigation, troopers identified the suspect as Jonathan Nielsen, 47, of Mount Holly.
Nielsen was later located and agreed to return the stolen syrup.
He was issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Criminal Division.
