KINGSBURY, NY — A Fort Ann man faces multiple felony drug charges following a traffic stop and subsequent investigation on State Route 196.
McCrea Manning, 43, of Fort Ann, New York, was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on March 17, 2026, according to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy.
An investigation by Deputy C. Fuller and Investigator Paddock determined that Manning was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and in possession of controlled substances.
Manning was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a class D felony; Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor; and Driving While Intoxicated, first offense.
Manning faced additional charges the following day, on March 18, 2026, after narcotics were discovered in his possession while he was being held at the Washington County Jail awaiting arraignment.
As a result, he was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a class D felony, and a second count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a class D felony.
Manning was arraigned through Centralized Arraignment and released on his own recognizance.
He is scheduled to appear in both the Town of Kingsbury Court and the Town of Fort Edward Court at future dates.
