GREENPORT, NY — A Hudson man was arrested March 24, 2026, on a felony charge of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
Joseph Benvenuto, 36, of Hudson, was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child less than 16, a class E felony.
He is accused of possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.
The arrest followed an investigation that included the execution of a search warrant on his electronic devices.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Livingston conducted the investigation with assistance from the Troop K Computer Crime Unit and the Columbia County Probation Department.
Benvenuto was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Greenport Court on April 20, 2026, at 3 p.m.
