HORSEHEADS, NY — A man already in custody at the Chemung County Jail faces an additional charge after authorities learned of an outstanding warrant from Pennsylvania.
Joshua C. Montgomery, 44, of Waverly, was arrested as a fugitive from justice on March 24, 2026, according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.
Montgomery is wanted in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, on a charge of theft by unlawfully taking movable property.
The Sheriff’s Office was notified that Montgomery had an active extraditable warrant while he was being held at the jail on unrelated charges.
The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division, and Montgomery was subsequently arrested and processed.
Montgomery was arraigned by the Town of Horseheads Court and remanded to the jail pending his extradition to Pennsylvania.
