WOONSOCKET, RI — State Police arrested a Woonsocket man on drug possession and multiple warrant charges following a traffic stop.
Troopers arrested David Oppenheim, 56, of Woonsocket, at 4:28 p.m. on Clark Court.
He was charged with possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance – 10 grams or less (crack cocaine).
Oppenheim was also arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant on a charge of shoplifting – second offense originating from the North Smithfield Police Department.
He was additionally arrested on three Providence Superior Court bench warrants for failure to appear for presentment as a violator on charges of possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance.
Two of those warrants originated from the Woonsocket Police Department and one from the Providence Police Department.
Oppenheim was transported to State Police headquarters, where he was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
He was later transported to the Adult Correctional Institute – Men’s Intake Center as a probation violator.
In a separate incident, troopers arrested Bradley Aiken, 21, of Riverside, at 2:32 a.m. following a traffic stop on Hartford Avenue in Providence.
Aiken was arrested as a fugitive from justice from the State of New Hampshire on an affidavit and arrest warrant for larceny – theft by unauthorized taking originating from the Nashua Police Department.
He was transported to State Police headquarters where he was processed and held pending morning arraignment at Sixth District Court.
