WEST RUTLAND, VT — A man was cited on a drug possession charge following a welfare check on Pleasant Street.
Vermont State Police troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to the area at approximately 8:18 p.m. March 22, 2026.
During an interaction with a person at the scene, Vernon Bowie, 47, of West Rutland, was found to be in possession of cocaine, police said.
Bowie was transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.
He was issued a citation on a charge of cocaine possession and released.
