PITTSFORD, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a 73-year-old man on domestic assault charges following a dispute at a residence on Goat Farm Road.
Troopers from the Rutland Barracks were dispatched to the residence at approximately 4:18 p.m. March 22, 2026.
An investigation revealed that Charles Vargas, of Pittsford, caused injury to a family member at the residence, according to police.
Vargas was arrested without incident and processed at the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks.
He was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court Rutland Criminal Division on March 23, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. to answer to charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault and domestic assault.
