Man arrested on child endangerment charge in Marathon

MARATHON, NY — A Cortlandville man faces charges after authorities say he was involved in a physical altercation in the presence of a child.

David M. Sullivan, 37, of Cortlandville, was arrested at 5:51 p.m. March 19 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation.

Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disturbance at an address on State Route 11 at approximately 5:33 p.m. March 19.

Authorities determined Sullivan had engaged in a physical altercation with a victim while in the presence of a child.

Sullivan was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

He was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8 a.m. March 20 and released on his own recognizance.

Sullivan’s next scheduled court appearance is in Marathon Town Court on April 9 at 6:30 p.m.
