GENESEO, NY — The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is renewing its appeal for information on the 41st anniversary of a former Dansville resident’s disappearance.
Rose Marie Gayhart was last seen March 21, 1985, in Cape Coral, Florida, at her place of employment, according to Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty.
Witnesses reported seeing Gayhart getting into a red truck with an unknown male at that time.
Gayhart would have turned 64 on Feb. 8.
At the time of her disappearance, Gayhart was described as approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and 115 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Both of her ears were pierced, and she had a scar under her chin and faint scars around her nose and eye.
The Sheriff’s Office has investigated the case since the initial report 41 years ago.
Numerous leads have been generated over the past four decades, but none have successfully located Gayhart.
