Motor vehicle accident in Cotuit

COTUIT, MA — Several patrol units were dispatched to the intersection of Santuit-Newtown Road and Falmouth Road Route 28 on Friday for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles.

Officers arrived at approximately 8:36 p.m. and observed one of the involved vehicles on its side.

Several local fire departments assisted the Cotuit Fire Department at the scene.

In total, five people sought medical treatment.

Four people were transported to Cape Cod Hospital by ambulance and one person later transported themselves.

One of those transported was reported to have multi-system trauma.

A preliminary investigation shows the vehicle arriving officers observed on its side had rolled onto three of its sides before finally coming to rest on its driver side.

The accident is being investigated by the Barnstable Police Traffic Unit.
