House fire destroys home in Rushville

RUSHVILLE, NY — A residential home was completely destroyed by fire on March 21.

Yates County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 65 S. Main Street in the Village of Rushville at approximately 1:33 p.m. for a report of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, deputies found the home fully engulfed in flames.

All occupants were evacuated from the home without any injuries.

Fire personnel responded to the scene and battled the blaze, but the structure was a complete loss.

The Yates County Fire Investigation team responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including Middlesex Fire, Rushville Fire, Potter Fire, Crystal Beach Fire and Benton Fire.

Also responding were the Office of Emergency Management, Middlesex Ambulance, the Yates County Fire Investigation Team and New York State Police.
