ORANGE, VT — A 78-year-old Berlin man died in a two-vehicle crash on US Route 302 near Provencher Lane on March 20, 2026.
The Vermont State Police responded to the crash at 3:26 p.m.
Investigation revealed the Berlin man was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Route 302 toward Barre when his vehicle fishtailed due to snowy weather conditions.
The Silverado crossed the double yellow line and crashed into a 2024 GMC Sierra.
The impact caused the cab of the Silverado to separate from the frame.
The Berlin man was wearing a seat belt but died in the crash.
The operator of the Sierra, Michael Cavallero, 54, of Orange, suffered minor injuries.
Cavallero was wearing a seat belt.
The Sierra sustained heavy front-end damage.
Roads were snow-covered and it was snowing at the time of the crash.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
