Woman arrested on grand larceny charge in Hopewell

HOPEWELL, NY — A woman was arrested following a retail theft investigation in Ontario County on March 19, 2026.

Tracey M. Vasquez-Woodhams, 32, of Geneva, was taken into custody after allegedly stealing merchandise valued at over $1,000 from a business on Recreation Drive.

Members of the New York State Police Troop E Community Stabilization Unit were participating in an organized retail theft detail at the store when asset protection employees reported a female concealing merchandise inside the business.

The individual passed all points of sale without paying for the items, according to police.

Vasquez-Woodhams exited the store and was taken into custody in the parking lot by responding troopers.

She was transported to State Police Canandaigua, where she was processed and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony.

Vasquez-Woodhams was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hopewell Court on April 7, 2026, at 6 p.m.
