SIDNEY, NY — A head-on collision involving three vehicles on State Route 8 is under investigation by the Sidney Police Department.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:22 a.m. March 19 on State Route 8, north of the River Street intersection.
Police determined that a box truck traveling southbound on State Route 8 was involved in a head-on collision with two vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.
One driver sustained injuries and was transported by Lifenet to Upstate Medical University Hospital for treatment.
The other two drivers were treated at Tri-Town Regional Hospital and subsequently released.
The Sidney Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Sidney Fire Department, Sidney Emergency Medical Services, American Medical Response, Inc., the New York State Department of Transportation, the New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit, and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
