SCOTT TOWNSHIP, PA — A student brought a stun device and pepper spray onto a school bus Thursday morning, discharging the spray and affecting several other students.
The incident occurred on a bus transporting students to Chartiers Valley Intermediate School.
The pepper spray was discharged onto the floor of the bus during the ride, according to Scott Township Police Chief Matthew R. Podsiadly.
School staff and transportation personnel immediately notified authorities.
The situation was addressed upon arrival at the school.
The School Resource Officer and Chartiers Valley School District officials are conducting an investigation.
Appropriate measures are being taken in accordance with school policy and applicable law, police said.
There is no ongoing threat to students.
No further information will be released because the individuals involved are juveniles.
