POWNAL, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a 34-year-old man on a domestic assault charge March 20.
Christopher D. Harney, of Pownal, was taken into custody following a domestic dispute on Northwest Hill Road.
Police were notified of the incident at approximately 5:50 a.m.
Through investigation, police determined Harney assaulted and threatened a family member.
Harney was charged with first degree aggravated domestic assault.
He was transported to the Vermont State Police Shaftsbury Barracks for processing.
Harney was then transported to the Vermont Superior Court – Bennington Criminal Division for arraignment.
