BLAIRSVILLE, PA — Police responded to a report of a juvenile on a rooftop attempting to hang on to power lines Sunday evening.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of North Walnut Street at approximately 6:01 p.m. March 15.

The juvenile was no longer on the rooftop when officers arrived.

Officers observed over a 20-foot drop from the roof to the ground.

Due to high winds, the juvenile was at even greater risk, police said.

Officers found the juveniles inside the residence.

When officers attempted to make contact with a parent, they discovered that the two juveniles were home alone inside the residence with no way to call for help in an emergency.

Amanda Rivera, 38, of Blairsville, the mother of the juveniles, has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children.

Rivera is awaiting her preliminary hearing before District Judge Robert S. Bell.
