Garbage truck overturns in Weston

WESTON, CT — A garbage truck rolled onto its side on Greenfield Drive near Walker Lane on March 19, 2026.

Weston police, fire and EMS responded to the scene at 7:36 a.m.

Fire personnel found a medium-duty garbage truck on its side and stabilized the vehicle.

Crews worked to contain approximately 30 gallons of hydraulic fluid that spilled from the truck.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was notified of the spill.

A third-party contractor mitigated the spill.

One person was evaluated by Weston EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.

Greenfield Drive was closed for more than two and a half hours.

Engine 4, Rescue 5, 551 and Medic 500 responded to the incident.

All units returned to service by 10:15 a.m.
