Woman arrested on multiple warrants in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, MA — A woman with seven active arrest warrants was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon.

Detective Melissa Rex observed Chelsea McCarty in the area of Appleton Street and Maple Street around 1 p.m.

Officers were aware that McCarty had seven active warrants for her arrest.

Sgt. John Veit, Officer Thomas Spafford and Officer Andrew Urbanski arrived and confirmed the warrants were still active.

Officers placed McCarty under arrest.

Chelsea McCarty, 41, of Greenfield is charged with an arrest warrant from Greenfield District Court for carrying a firearm without a license, larceny of a firearm and larceny from a building.

She also faces an arrest warrant from Eastern Hampshire District Court for shoplifting by asportation.

McCarty is charged with a default warrant from Chicopee District Court for shoplifting by asportation, third offense.

She faces an arrest warrant from Holyoke District Court for possession of a Class B drug.

McCarty is also charged with an arrest warrant from Holyoke District Court for possession of a Class A drug, subsequent offense.

She faces a default warrant from Holyoke District Court for shoplifting by concealing merchandise, third offense.

McCarty is also charged with a default warrant from Holyoke District Court for conspiracy to violate drug law and trespassing.
