MORAVIA, NY — A 26-year-old man was arrested on drunken driving and other charges following a traffic stop on Route 38.
Gage M. Benson, of Niles, was arrested at 6:52 p.m. March 15 and charged with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree and other vehicle and traffic violations, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.
A deputy conducted a traffic stop at approximately 6:33 p.m. on Route 38 after observing a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker and no front license plate, Schenck said.
The deputy arrested Benson, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, for DWI.
Benson was transported to the Sheriff’s Office, where he provided a breath sample of .09 percent BAC.
Benson was operating with a conditional driver’s license due to a pending DWI charge, resulting in the aggravated unlicensed operation charge.
Benson was arraigned at centralized arraignment and released to appear in Moravia Town Court on March 19 at 5:30 p.m.
