MOORE TOWNSHIP, PA — Police and firefighters responded to a roadside brush fire sparked by a lit cigarette thrown from a vehicle earlier today.
Officers from the Moore Township Police Department and the Klecknersville Fire Department responded to the scene.
Crews were able to get the fire under control before it spread further, according to police.
Police said dry conditions and wind can cause fires to spread quickly, putting homes, property and lives at risk.
Authorities are asking residents not to throw cigarettes out of vehicles, be aware of dry conditions and report any signs of fire immediately.
