NORTH WILDWOOD, NJ — A traffic stop on North Wildwood Boulevard led to the arrest of two men on drug and weapon charges March 7.
Officer Nevil stopped a vehicle on Route 147 for a traffic violation.
The driver, Shawn West, 34, of Cape May Court House, was found to have an outstanding warrant.
West was arrested and a search found him in possession of Gabapentin and drug paraphernalia, police said.
A passenger, Michael Dickerson, 33, of Whitesboro, was observed not wearing a seatbelt.
A Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit was called to the scene.
The K-9 gave a positive indication for narcotics on the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle located Methadone and a knife, according to police.
West was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain persons not to possess a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia.
Dickerson was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Both men were issued warrants and transported to the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
