Three arrested in assault in Auburn

AUBURN, NY — Three people were arrested following an assault that left one person injured on Janet Street.

Members of the Auburn Police Department were dispatched to 235 Janet St. at approximately 5:45 p.m. March 14 for a fight complaint.

Dispatch advised of five people fighting in the area and that one male was being beaten up.

Upon arrival, officers observed four people leaving the area and made contact with those individuals.

Based on the investigation, it was learned that three people had assaulted the victim.

During the course of the assault, the suspects repeatedly punched and kicked the victim, then dropped a car floor jack on the victim as he was laying on the ground, causing injuries.

Jared Medina, 18, of Auburn, was charged with assault second degree, a D felony.

Ardee Maxwell, 18, of Auburn, was charged with assault second degree, a D felony, and criminal possession of a weapon fourth degree, an A misdemeanor.

A juvenile female was also arrested and charged with assault second degree, a D felony.

The name of the juvenile female suspect was not released.
