Teen charged with murder in Roxbury

ROXBURY, MA — Boston Police homicide detectives have charged a 16-year-old boy with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 61-year-old woman last fall.

The juvenile from Needham faces charges of murder, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm in the death of Marie Molea-Anthony of Boston.

Police lodged a warrant against the suspect on Wednesday.

The teen is currently in custody on unrelated firearms charges and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court at a later date.

Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the area of 1855 Washington Street in Roxbury at about 1:07 p.m. on Oct. 13.

Officers found Molea-Anthony suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The Boston Police Department Homicide Unit continues to actively investigate the incident.
