HOLYOKE, MA — Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a stabbing.
On Sunday, March 8, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Cabot Street and South Bridge Street for a report of a stabbing.
Officers located an adult male stabbing victim.
Officers applied medical aid before he was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives in the Holyoke Police Criminal Investigations Bureau began investigating and identified Raymond Ortiz as a suspect.
Detectives requested and were granted a warrant for the arrest of Ortiz.
On Sunday, March 15, Chicopee Police officers located and arrested Ortiz on the warrant issued out of Holyoke District Court.
Raymond Ortiz, 36, of Chicopee, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and threat to commit a crime.
