WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA — A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning.
The West Springfield Police Department responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:05 a.m. reporting a pedestrian crash in the area of Donut Dip at 1305 Riverdale Street.
A 54-year-old man was transported to Baystate Medical Center by the West Springfield Fire Department and is currently in critical condition.
The vehicle operator remained on scene and was transported to Mercy Medical Center.
The operator is cooperating fully with investigators.
The West Springfield Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash in conjunction with the Hampden District Attorney’s Office.
No charges have been filed at this time.
The identities of those involved are being withheld pending family notification and the ongoing investigation.
