CANISTEO, NY — A 37-year-old man was arrested after police investigated a complaint about threats made to an individual’s life.
Richard J. Dacey, of Canisteo, was charged with menacing in the third degree and harassment in the second degree.
The Canisteo Village Police Department received the complaint on March 17, 2026.
Police completed an investigation and arrested Dacey on Greenwood Street on March 18, 2026.
Dacey was processed on the charges and transported to the Steuben County Jail pending CAP arraignment.
He is scheduled to appear in Canisteo Village Court.
The Steuben County District Attorney’s Office and New York State Police assisted in the investigation.
