Woman arrested on drug charges in Greenville

GREENVILLE, PA — A homeless woman was arrested on drug and theft charges after police found her behaving abnormally at a business.

Michelle Butler, 53, was arrested March 8 for public intoxication and possession of controlled substances at a business at College Avenue and Main Street.

Police said Butler was discovered to have warrants for retail theft.

She was committed to the Mercer County Jail.

In other recent incidents reported by Greenville police:

Feb. 10: Elizabeth Mccarl-Brick, 32, of Greenville, was charged with false reports to law enforcement to incriminate another and fictitious reporting.

Feb. 15: Richard Hovis, 61, of Greenville, was charged with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly struck a victim in the face and head several times with a closed fist before leaving for his residence.

Feb. 18: Blake Bowers, 18, of Greenville, was charged with fleeing an officer, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person and numerous other traffic-related offenses.

Around 1 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop when Bowers was observed driving down a do not enter zone.

The vehicle failed to stop and fled, approaching speeds of 100 mph down Conneaut Lake Road.

Feb. 19: Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on South Main Street for a vehicle that had crashed into a pole.

An elderly female took a turn too sharply, resulting in the collision.

The driver reported no injuries to EMS at the scene.

The vehicle was towed.

Feb. 23: Jon Bone, 46, of Greenville, was charged with a PFA violation after sending text messages to a victim.

Feb. 24: Donald Copeland, 36, of Greenville, was charged with a PFA violation when he called a victim and left a voicemail intended to alarm, as well as sending pictures of himself holding shotgun shells.

Feb. 25: Rhonda Hockenberry, 51, of Fredonia, was charged with bad checks after the conclusion of an investigation that began in November.

Feb. 26: A juvenile was charged with criminal mischief after kicking in the front door of a house on Race Street, resulting in severe damage to the door.

March 2: Officers responded to an accident at College Avenue and Packard Avenue where a driver failed to negotiate a turn, resulting in a collision with a state roadway sign and Thiel College property sign.

The driver reported no injuries to EMS at the scene.

The vehicle was towed.

March 6: Malachi Jackson, 20, of Akron, Ohio, was arrested on a warrant out of York, Pa., for aggravated assault, as well as charged with license required to engage in soliciting when he was discovered going door to door asking residents about their electricity bills.

March 6: Joshua Euard, 42, of Greenville, was arrested for DUI at West Main Street and North Front Street.

He was released to a sober individual after a DUI investigation was conducted.

March 9: Jeff Anderson, 38, of Greenville, was arrested on warrants out of Trumbull County, Ohio, as well as local warrants for failure to pay fines.

He was committed to the Mercer County Jail.

March 9: A juvenile was charged with criminal mischief for smashing glass windows and doors at a business at Grant Street and Main Street.

March 10: Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at Columbia Avenue and East Avenue.

One vehicle allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling east, colliding with another vehicle on Columbia Avenue.

No drivers reported injuries to EMS on scene.

Both vehicles were towed.

March 11: Audrey Potase, 44, of Greenville, was arrested on multiple traffic warrants as well as a warrant for bad checks.

March 14: Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at South Mercer Street and Hamburg Road.

One vehicle pulled out onto South Mercer Road, colliding with another vehicle.

No injuries were reported to EMS at the scene.

One vehicle was towed.

The driver of that vehicle, Jon Bone, 46, of Greenville, was arrested for a warrant out of Trumbull County for failure to appear.
