KINGSTON, NY — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing in a marked crosswalk on March 16, 2026.
Kingston Police responded to the area of Broadway and Franklin Street at approximately 8:24 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident.
A 64-year-old man of Kingston was crossing in a marked crosswalk, heading northwest, at Franklin Street when he was struck.
The operator of the vehicle, a 54-year-old Kingston resident, was heading northwest on Broadway and made a left turn onto Franklin Street.
As the vehicle made the turn, it struck the pedestrian while he was in the crosswalk.
The operator and vehicle remained at the scene.
Members of the Kingston Police Department’s Patrol and Detective Division responded to the scene to assist with and investigate the incident.
The pedestrian was conscious and alert upon officers’ arrival.
He was transported to HealthAlliance Hospital by the Kingston Fire Department for injuries sustained during the incident.
A Uniform Traffic Ticket was issued to the operator of the vehicle based on an investigation into the incident.
